“It was the early 90’s and I’d just been to the Metropolitan Museum of art.  At the same time I’d recently come up with a method for sculpting with graphite (pencil). Walking out of the museum through the Classical Antiquity hallway, I thought -  “Wouldn’t  it be great to have a classical Greek figure, the embodiment of ones idea of Art, as a pencil.”


It was like a marriage of then and now.”
