Large Paintings On Paper

“Why” began with the whole word and in the painting process was shortened to just “Y”.

It was a painting that questioned everything minus the norm of habit, right or wrong.  It was a Painting that explored the beginning again of ones own thought. This idea of clearing out others values from your own thought was something I did not realize then, that I’d do over and again.

These first years of being a serious painter, I truly had no idea what I was doing or where I was going.  I simply just used to paint.  Ironically, all that was natural, years later to still be natural.  In the not knowing and the doing, it somehow worked.

The interplay of paint and drawing, the love of carving into wet paint with a pencil.  In some respects,  much has changed and not a lot has changed.

My signature has gone from being rather small and tight to being much more flowery, flowing and less legible.
